Tyler Bertuzzi’s OT goal lifts Red Wings past Blue Jackets

Tyler Bertuzzi scored 15 seconds into overtime and the host Detroit Red Wings avenged a one-goal loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets the previous day with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.Dylan Larkin carried the puck into the Blue Jackets’ zone and blasted a shot from the right circle. Goaltender Elvis Merzlikins made the save but the rebound bounced off Bertuzzi’s thigh and into the net.That was Bertuzzi’s first goal of the young season.Bobby Ryan scored his fourth goal in three games for the Red Wings. Anthony Mantha had the other Detroit goal, while Jonathan Bernier made 22 saves.Boone Jenner and Alexandre Texier scored for the Blue Jackets. Merzlikins made 24 saves.Detroit won 64.3 percent of the faceoffs.Jenner broke the scoreless deadlock 1:38 into the second period. He ripped a shot from the left circle that eluded Bernier’s glove.David Savard got the play started with a pass from his own zone and Max Domi brought the puck into Red Wings’ territory before sliding it to Jenner.
