Lions QB Stafford (thumb) undergoes tests

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford underwent tests on his right thumb following Sunday’s game, NFL Network reported Monday.Stafford said Sunday he had trouble gripping the ball after a first quarter hit and trainers taped his thumb.X-rays were negative, per the report, which indicated Stafford could be limited this week but is expected to play at Carolina on Sunday.After playing the Panthers, the Lions have a quick turnaround with their annual Thanksgiving Day date kicking off Week 12 (vs. the Houston Texans).Washington Football Team linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis hit Stafford with 3:10 left in the first quarter.
