Whitecaps claim Eastern Division Title in sweep of Lake County, face Cedar Rapids for Midwest League Championship

The playoffs began on a high note last week for the Midwest League’s best team in the West Michigan Whitecaps as they were able to complete a two-game sweep of the Lake County Captains in the best-of-three Eastern Division Championship round to advance to the Midwest League Championship round.

The Whitecaps get set for a best-of-three Midwest League Championship series against the Western Division Champion Cedar Rapids Kernels with Game #1 taking place at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park and Games #2 and #3 happening on the road in Eastern Iowa:

  • Game#1 – Sunday, September 14th – 2 pm
  • Game #2 – Tuesday, September 16th – 7:35 pm
  • Game #3 – Wednesday, September 17th – 7:35 pm (if necessary)
