We’re down to the final two weeks of the 2025 Major League Baseball Regular Season, and the Detroit Tigers are just trying to get to the finish line and fend off any late-charging American League Central teams for the top spot in the division with 12 games remaining.
The past road trip for the Tigers began with taking two of three in New York against the Yankees followed by a disappointing weekend series down in Miami dropping two of three from the Marlins to finish with a .500 trip.
Detroit now sits 2.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the #1 spot in the American League when it comes to playoff seeding with a handful of other teams a few games behind them for the #2 seed, and the top two seeds in both leagues receive a first-round bye in the Wild Card Round.
As for the A.L. Central, here’s how it stacks up:
AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL
- Detroit Tigers – 85-65
- Cleveland Guardians – 78-71 (6.5 GB)
- Kansas City Royals – 75-75 (10 GB)
- Minnesota Twins – 65-84 (19.5 GB)
- Chicago White Sox – 57-93 (28 GB)
