Tigers Weekly Report: Grinding out victories in June

Like the week prior, the Detroit Tigers captured another .500 record of 3-3 last week to stay right where they were in terms of the number of games above the .500 mark at 19.

The past week saw numerous games paused and moved around due to the weather as the Tigers were able to muscle two out of three wins over the Pittsburgh Pirates at home followed by dropping two of three contests on the road down south against the Tampa Bay Rays.

With another week in the books, the Tigers still find themselves at the top of the Major League Baseball standings with the Los Angeles Dodgers (48 wins), Philadelphia Phillies (47 wins), Chicago Cubs (46 wins) and numerous others following right behind.

Also, the American League Central still runs through Detroit with the other teams in the division a number of games back as we hit the stretch run in June:

AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL STANDINGS
DETROIT TIGERS – 49-30
Cleveland Guardians – 39-37 (8.5 GB)
Kansas City Royals – 38-40 (10.5 GB)
Minnesota Twins – 37-40 (11 GB)
Chicago White Sox – 25-53 (23.5 GB)

As far as individual standouts go, let’s start with Wenceel Perez finding his offensive groove of late:

How about that Javier Baez guy?

Riley Greene continues to destroy the baseball:
