The best team in all of Major League Baseball does not currently reside in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Philadelphia.
That’s right, your Detroit Tigers have the best record in the league as we now enter the month of June as they continue to win series while maintaining their distance from the teams trying to chase them down in the American League Central.
Last week, the Tigers swept the San Francisco Giants out of Detroit and followed it up over the weekend by taking two of three from the Kansas City Royals to finish with a 5-1 mark for the week.
Here’s the updated A.L. Central Standings as the lead as now grown by a few games compared to the previous week:
AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL STANDINGS
DETROIT TIGERS – 39-21
Cleveland Guardians – 32-26 (6 GB)
Minnesota Twins – 31-27 (7 GB)
Kansas City Royals -31-29 (8 GB)
Chicago White Sox – 18-41 (20.5 GB)
Individual standouts from the week have to begin with the best pitcher in baseball doing his usual thing on the mound:
