Tigers Prospect Ryan Kreidler Promoted To The Big Club, Spencer Torkelson Recalled To Detroit

Another Detroit Tigers prospect is getting set to make his Major League Baseball debut as Ryan Kreidler, the #7-ranked prospect in the Tigers organization, gets the call up to the big club. In addition, the Tigers recently announced additional moves that included bringing back Spencer Torkelson from Triple-A Toledo.

Kreidler, the Tigers’ fourth-round pick during the 2019 MLB Draft, has appeared in 56 games this season for the Mud Hens since returning from a broken hand in late April hitting .213 with 8 home runs and 22 RBI. The California native also played in four games with the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Since getting sent down to Toledo, Torkelson has played in 35 games for the Mud Hens hitting .229 with 5 home runs and 18 RBI. The former #1 overall pick in 2020 has struggled during his time in Detroit this season batting .197 in 83 games with 5 home runs and 21 RBI.
