Michigan Baseball Head Coach Erik Bakich Leaving For Clemson Job

After ten seasons in Ann Arbor, Erik Bakich is leaving the Michigan baseball program for a job in the ACC with the Clemson Tigers, where he got coaching start as a volunteer assistant in 2002.

The 44-year-old Bakich compiled a 328-216 record with the Wolverines that included two Big Ten Tournament titles in 2015 and 2022 and five NCAA Tournament appearances that was highlighted by their run to the National Championship series against Vanderbilt in 2019, where the Wolverines fell in the decisive third game to the Commodores.

Prior to landing at Michigan, Bakich spent three seasons as the bench boss at Maryland from 2010-12 going 70-98 while the Terrapins were still a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Michigan fans, how big is this loss for the Wolverines baseball program?
