While the team hasn’t made an official announcement just yet, several sports networks have confirmed that Jay Gruden is out of a job.

Washington’s head coach gets the boot after a winless start to the season, leaving the team 0-5 following Sunday’s blowout loss to the Patriots.

Gruden spent six years in the position, the longest of any in Daniel Snyder’s 20-year ownership of the team. He earned a 35-49-1 record, taking them to the playoffs once.

Speaking after the 33-7 home defeat, Gruden said, “Nobody’s told me anything. If the key works on Monday, I’ll keep working.”
