Just one day after he filed a second grievance over his dissatisfaction with his helmet, Antonio Brown on Tuesday was spotted at Oakland’s training camp — wearing an NFL-approved helmet.
“It’s a certified helmet,” coach Jon Gruden confirmed on Tuesday. “He’s all-in, ready to go.” The apparent resolution to Brown’s helmet crisis came after weeks of headgear drama that began August 9th.
That’s when the popular Raider threatened to retire if he wasn’t allowed to continue wearing his old helmet, which the NFL has phased out. He then filed a grievance in the matter, only to have it overturned by NFL officials. He filed a second grievance Monday and took part in practice, but refused to wear a helmet.
CNN reports the helmet worn by Brown on Tuesday was the league-sanctioned Schutt Vengeance Z10 LTD. There’s no word on what changed Brown’s mind.
Do you think Brown suddenly realized he was being a little childish about the helmet issue? Or did the helmet have nothing to do with whatever he was upset about?
