For the second straight week following the bye, the Detroit Lions were locked in a low-scoring and tense NFC North battle inside Ford Field against an NFC North rival as they looked to knock off the last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL in the Minnesota Vikings.
Ultimately, it was the Lions running game in the second half that would pave the way to a gutsy 19-15 victory to improve to 5-2 overall and stay unbeaten against NFC North counterparts to 2-0.
With the loss, the Vikings dropped to 6-1 and 2-1 against NFC North foes.
