Lions hold off Jets at home to pick up second win of the season

The Detroit Lions have had no shortage of drama during its first three games of the 2026 regular season that included Sunday’s home game against the New York Jets as they looked to rebound from the Thursday Night Football loss at Buffalo.

Like the season opener at home against New Orleans, the Lions built a multi-touchdown lead only to see the visitors rally to even the game late in regulation.

However, the Lions defense would get the final say this time around as the Jets looked to even score driving into Detroit territory with under a minute remaining only to have this happen:

With the win, the Lions improve to 2-1 on the young season, while the Jets fall to 1-2.

The Lions now set their sights on Sunday Night Football for Week #4 as they are back on the road to Charlotte, North Carolina and Bank of America Stadium to battle Bryce Young and the 1-2 Carolina Panthers at 8:20 pm.
