Trajan Langdon and the Detroit Pistons decided to get a little aggressive during the first-round of the 2026 NBA Draft in which they sent three future second-round picks to the Memphis Grizzlies to move up four spots to select Stanford freshman guard Ebuka Okorie at #17 overall.

During his one season in college with the Cardinal, Okorie averaged 23.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 3.6 APG, and 1.6 SPG while shooting 46.5% overall and 35.4% from three in 31 games played.
In addition, the Pistons worked another draft deal during the second-round in which they acquired Virginia forward Ugonna Onyenso from the New York Knicks in exchange for cash considerations.

Onyenso spent four seasons in college with Kentucky (two seasons), Kansas State (one season), and, most recently, Virginia (one season) averaging 4.3 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 2.1 BPG while shooting 57.8% overall in 100 career games played.
Day 1 of the NBA Draft was also a special night for the Michigan Wolverines as the “Big Three” of Morez Johnson Jr., Yaxel Lendeborg, and Aday Mara were all selected in the Top 12 of the draft.
