For the first time since the 2022 season, there will be no postseason for the Detroit Lions.
With their playoff hopes hanging on by a string, the Lions took to Minnesota on Christmas Day to take on a Vikings squad that was starting a quarterback named Max Brosmer.
With though the Lions’ defense gave up only THREE net passing yards, it still wasn’t enough to win the football game as the offense gave up five sacks and turned the ball over six times in a 23-10 setback to see its postseason chances officially go up in flames.

Both Detroit and Minnesota, who have been eliminated from postseason contention, go into the final week of the regular season at 8-8 overall.
The Lions conclude the 2025 season on Sunday, January 4th at 4:25 pm in Chicago against Ben Johnson and the 11-5 Bears.
