In a season filled with missed opportunities and, like last season, key injuries to notable players, the Detroit Lions were able to end the 2025 season on a high note as Dan Campbellโs group walked into Soldier Field in downtown Chicago to face Ben Johnson and the NFC North Champion and playoff-bound Bears and came away with a walk-off 19-16 victory courtesy of a Jake Bates 42-yard kick with no time left on the clock.

The Lions finished the 2025 campaign with a 9-8 overall mark and finished with a winning record for the fourth consecutive season.
Also, Detroit was able to complete the two-game sweep of their former offensive coordinator in Ben Johnson.
However, the Lions did finish in last-place in the NFC North due to losing the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Minnesota Vikings:
NFC NORTH STANDINGS
- Chicago Bears โ 11-6
- Green Bay Packers โ 9-7-1
- Minnesota Vikings โ 9-8
- Detroit Lions โ 9-8
With the fourth-place finish, the 2026 Detroit Lions schedule has now been finalized:
