The Central Michigan Football team looked to end the first season of the Matt Drinkall era on a high note as they took to Ford Field in downtown Detroit for the GameAbove Sports Bowl against a Big Ten foe in the Northwestern Wildcats.
Following a scoreless first quarter, the Wildcats went to outscore the Chippewas in the second quarter, 21-0, and never looked back in a 34-7 triumph as both teams ended their respective seasons at 7-6 overall.

Central Michigan ended the season with a winning record for the first time since going 9-4 during the 2021 campaign that was capped off with a Sun Bowl victory over Washington State, 24-21.
