Through one half of play out in Los Angeles, it looked like the Detroit Lions had a really good shot at pulling off a massive road victory against old friend Matthew Stafford and the L.A. Rams up 24-17.
However, the third quarter saw the host Rams dominate all phases in which they outscored the Lions 17-0 and never looked back in a 41-34 victory to improve to 11-3 overall and clinch a playoff spot.
With the loss, the Lions fell to 8-6 on the season with three games remaining in the regular season.

Basically, the Lions have to win out and get a little bit of help in order to keep their fading playoff hopes alive.
Their remaining schedule consists of a home contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6), who have a Monday night home game against Miami before their game in Detroit, and road contests against the Minnesota Vikings (6-8) and Chicago Bears (10-4).
This Sunday’s game against the Steelers inside Ford Field kicks off at 4:25 pm.
