It doesn’t matter what the record of the opposition is, it is tough to win games in the National Football League, and Sunday’s home game inside Ford Field against the New York Giants was anything but a walk in the park for the Detroit Lions.
Facing a ten-point fourth quarter deficit, the Lions were able to somehow rally late to tie the game courtesy of a 59-yard field goal from Jake Bates to eventually send the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Lions scored on the first play from scrimmage courtesy of Jahmyr Gibbs, and the defense was able to shut the door with a fourth down stand in a 34-27 extra session victory to improve to 7-4 on the season.
With the loss, the Giants fell to 2-10 courtesy of another fourth quarter/overtime collapse.

Next up, it’s the annual Thanksgiving Day game inside Ford Field as Jordan Love and the 7-3-1 Green Bay Packers come to downtown Detroit for a 1 pm kickoff with massive NFC North implications on the line.
