The first all-time meeting in Allendale between #21 Grand Valley State and Roosevelt was a one-sided contest from the beginning as the “Battle of the Lakers” was controlled by the home team as GVSU took control early and often a 69-13 victory over RU to finish the season with a 7-3 overall record and 5-2 in GLIAC play.
Roosevelt ended their second season in the GLIAC with a 2-8 overall mark and 1-6 against conference competition.

Grand Valley State ends the regular season ranked #20 in the AFCA (Coaches) and #23 in the D2Football (Media) Polls nationally.
The Lakers will open up the 2026 regular season on Thursday, August 27th on the road against the Charleston (WV) Golden Eagles.
