Pistons add a pair of former Wolverines in free agency, re-sign Paul Reed for frontcourt depth

The Detroit Pistons came into this offseason’s free agency period looking to start it off by retaining one of their key pieces off the bench from last year’s team in Malik Beasley.

However, if the gambling reports are true, Malik Beasley will never see another second on an NBA floor.

So, Trajan Langdon had to shift in another direction and, like Tim Hardaway Jr. last season, decided to bring in a couple of former Michigan Wolverines to the Motor City in Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson.

Before making those deals, Langdon’s first free agency move was bringing back a frontcourt depth piece from last year’s squad in Paul Reed:

The 30-year-old LeVert is entering his 10th NBA season on his sixth different team, while the 31-year-old Robinson will be entering his 8th NBA season after spending the first seven years with the Miami Heat.

Reed, the 26-year-old, is entering his sixth NBA season and second in Detroit after spending the first four seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers.
