The 2025 NHL Draft saw the Detroit add eight more players to their respective prospect pool led by first-rounder in Carter Bear at 13th overall.
Also, Steve Yzerman was able to execute a trade over the weekend with the Anaheim Ducks in getting some goaltending help with the acquisition of veteran netminder John Gibson.
The soon-to-be 32-year-old Gibson spent the better part of 12 seasons in Anaheim after being selected in the second round (39th overall) by the Ducks in the 2011 NHL Draft compiling 215 wins between the regular season and postseason to go with a 2.89 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in the regular season.
