For the first time since the 2018 season, the West Michigan Whitecaps are headed to the Midwest League postseason in September after capturing the top spot in the East Division during the first half of the season.
Not only that, but the following night, the Whitecaps are able to clinch the best first half record in the entire league with a narrow road victory over the Lansing Lugnuts.
West Michigan will look for its first Midwest League title since the 2015 season and currently have six league championships in 1996, 1998, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2015.
