No NBA postseason awards for the Pistons as J.B. Bickerstaff comes up short for Coach of the Year award

This season’s Detroit Pistons squad had a couple of worthy nominees for select league postseason awards that included head coach J.B. Bickerstaff being a candidate for Coach of the Year after conducting one of the greatest turnarounds in NBA history.

However, the voters decided to go with the “easier” choice and select a head coach whose team already had high expectations going into the season.

In regards to other awards, president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon finished runner-up for the Executive of the Year.

Also, sharpshooter Malik Beasley was a distant runner-up for the Sixth Man of the Year.

Lastly, former #1 overall pick Cade Cunningham came in third in voting for the league’s Most Improved Player award.

As the saying continues to go, it will always be “Detroit vs. Everybody.”
