The Detroit Tigers have struck a trade with the Texas Rangers in sending catcher Carson Kelly to Texas in exchange for a pair of minor leaguers in Liam Hicks and Tyler Owens.
The 30-year-old Kelly spent parts of last and this season with the Tigers hitting .225 in 262 plate appearances with 8 HR and 36 RBI.
In correspondence to the trade, the Tigers have called up prospect Dillon Dingler for his Major League debut:
The soon-to-be 26-year-old Dingler was drafted by the Tigers in the second-round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of Ohio State and has been on a tear this year over in Triple-A Toledo hitting .308 with 17 HR and 52 RBI.
