Another .500 week keeps Tigers in same position as the week prior

Another week has passed in the 2024 Major League Baseball season, and the Detroit Tigers continue to stay around the .500 mark overall and unable to gain any ground on the teams they are chasing in the American League Central.

Last week got off to a promising note down in Texas taking two of three from the Rangers before returning home to Comerica Park and dropping two of three from the Milwaukee Brewers.

As a result, the Tigers stand at 32-33 overall and 10.5 game behind the first-place Cleveland Guardians in the A.L. Central.

But hey, they’re only two games out of a Wild Card spot!

In other good news, Tarik Skubal continues to dominate on the mound:

In frustrating news because he’s not doing this with the big club consistently, Tork is tearing the cover off the ball since getting demoted to the Toledo Mud Hens:

This week, Detroit hosts the Washington Nationals for three games on Tuesday-Thursday and then hit the road back down to Texas to face the Houston Astros for a three-game set on Friday-Sunday.
