Tigers go through hot and cold spells during last two weeks, gain no ground in A.L. Central standings

Over the course of the last two weeks, the Detroit Tigers stayed right where they were to begin the stretch….fourth-place in the American League Central standings and losing more ground behind the first-place Cleveland Guardians.

After going 6-7 the previous two weeks, the Tigers find themselves at 29-30 overall and ten games back of first in the A.L. Central following a span that saw them get swept in three road games at Kansas City; winning three of four at home against the Toronto Blue Jays; splitting a short two-game home set against the Pittsburgh Pirates; and splitting a four-game road series against the Boston Red Sox.

The good from the recent two-week stretch is the continued mound dominance from one Tarik Skubal:

Also, the Tigers had a walk-off victory against the Blue Jays:

The bad news….Tork still can’t find his offensive groove:

This week, the Tigers kick it off with a three-game road series against the Texas Rangers on Monday-Wednesday followed by a three-game home weekend set against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday-Sunday.
