Michigan State’s hoops season ends with second-round NCAA Tournament exit

After opening up the NCAA Tournament with an impressive 69-51 throttling of the 8th-seeded Mississippi State Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon, the 9th-seeded Michigan State Spartans saw their 2023-24 campaign end a few days later in the second-round of the tournament to the top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels by an 85-69 decision.

The Spartans conclude the 29th season under Tom Izzo with a 20-15 overall record after coming in to the season ranked preseason #4 in the country.

On a positive to what many Spartan fans believe was a very underwhelming season, MSU did extend their NCAA Tournament streak to 26 straight years.
