Lions release Cameron Sutton following warrant issued for domestic battery by strangulation

After just one season with the Detroit Lions, Cameron Sutton is no longer a member of Dan Campbell’s squad as the 29-year-old is currently wanted by Florida law enforcement for domestic battery by strangulation, a third-degree felony.

The twists to the story are that, one, Sutton is still on the run and refuses to turn himself in, and two, Sutton was as actually at the Lions’ training facility working out when the news of the warrant was brought out to the public eye.

Sutton appeared in all 20 games for the Lions this past season between the regular season and playoffs totaling 73 tackles and one interception.
