Lions release veteran Tracy Walker after six seasons

The Detroit Lions have decided to move on from veteran safety Tracy Walker after six seasons in which the former third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft did not see any playing time during the team’s past postseason run to the NFC Championship Game.

The 29-year-old Walker appeared in 79 games (43 starts) with the Lions totaling 398 tackles (291 solo) to go with three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and four sacks.

Walker signed a three-year, $25 million extension with the Lions after his rookie deal expired in March of 2022.
