Michigan hires Don “Wink” Martindale as team’s new defensive coordinator

Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Football program have reportedly found its new defensive coordinator in Don “Wink” Martindale, who takes over for the departing Jesse Minter.

The 60-year-old Martindale last coached in the college ranks from 2000-03 as the defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach for Western Kentucky.

From 2004-23, Martindale served as a linebackers coach/defensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and New York Giants.
