Lions hire two new assistants in Dre Bly and Steve Heiden

The Detroit Lions have brought on two new assistant coaches to the staff that includes a former fan favorite returning to the “Motor City.”

The 45-year-old Bly spent four seasons in Detroit from 2003-06 totaling 202 tackles (176 solo), 19 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 3 defensive touchdowns. The Virginia native spent the past four seasons as the cornerbacks coach at his college alma mater in North Carolina.

The 46-year-old Heiden played tight end for 11 seasons in the NFL and spent the past ten years in the Arizona Cardinals organization in various coaching roles under three different head coaches.
