Lions assistant head coach Duce Staley leaving for Carolina Panthers

Detroit Lions assistant head coach/running backs coach Duce Staley is leaving for an elevated position with the Carolina Panthers under new head coach Frank Reich.

After serving as an assistant coach in various roles with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2011-20, the soon-to-be 48-year-old Staley spent the last two seasons in Detroit under head coach Dan Campbell.

The South Carolina native played with the Eagles (1997-2003) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2004-06) during his ten-year NFL playing career.
