Tigers sign pitcher Michael Lorenzen to one-year contract

The Detroit Tigers have made another move on the pitching front in signing Michael Lorenzen to a one-year, $8.5 million contract.

Lorenzen, the soon-to-be 31-year-old, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first-round (38th overall) of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Cal State Fullerton.

The Anaheim, California spent last season with the Los Angeles Angels compiling an 8-6 record to go with a 4.24 ERA, 85 strikeouts, and 44 walks.

Prior to pitching for the Angels, Lorenzen spent seven seasons with the Reds from 2015-21 totaling a 21-21 record and 4.07 ERA.
