Emoni Bates has been reinstated as both a student and athlete by Eastern Michigan University after agreeing to a plea deal to have his felony gun charges dismissed if he pled guilty to one count of attempted illegal transportation of a weapon.
The Ypsilanti native had been suspended by EMU since September 19th after he was arrested the night prior and charged with two felony gun charges.
The Eagles’ first basketball game of the 2022-23 season occurs on Thursday, October 27th at home against Grand Valley State in an exhibition contest at 7 pm.
