The #2-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers got off to a bit of a slow start in the annual “Battle of the Valleys” contest against the #17-ranked Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at Lubber Stadium on Saturday night but were able to slowly pull away after the first quarter and claim a 29-10 victory in the GLIAC Opener.
The Lakers will get back on the road this weekend for their final non-conference tilt of the season in Springfield, Massachusetts against the Yellow Jackets of American International College.
