Tigers Ship Michael Fulmer To Minnesota For Minor League Pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long

After trading away Robbie Grossman to the Braves on Monday night, Al Avila and the Detroit Tigers made one more Trade Deadline move prior to last night’s win in Minnesota, and the player that was dealt did not have to move far to get acclimated to his new team.

Gipson-Long, the native of Georgia, will report to the Tiger’s Double-A affiliate, the Erie Sea Wolves.

Fulmer spent nearly six seasons in Detroit posting a 3.90 ERA to go with a 32-43 record and 16 saves in 178 total appearances. The former first-round pick of the New York Mets in 2011 claimed the 2016 Rookie of the Year honors in his first season with the Tigers while also finishing in the top ten for the Cy Young Award. Fulmer also made an All-Star Game appearance back in 2017.

Tigers fans, how would you grade this trade?
