Fans of the Detroit Tigers can finally smile about something in what has been a tumultuous 2022 season thus far, and his name is Riley Greene.
Greene, the #5 overall pick of the 2019 MLB Draft, has been raking offensively since being called up from the minors and overcoming a foot injury to start the season. The Florida native hit .291 at all minor league levels to go with 30 home runs and 120 RBI in 198 games played over three seasons.
Recently, the newly-crowned #1 overall prospect in the MLB belted his first career homer, and it happened to be in dramatic fashion. It hopefully indicates a sign of even better things to come for many seasons ahead.
