Former University of Michigan Basketball Head Coach John Beilein and former Detroit Piston Richard Hamilton have been nominated to the 2022 class for the College Basketball Hall of Fame.
Beilein coached the Wolverines from 2007-19 reaching two National Championship Games in 2013 and 2018 and winning two Big Ten regular season and tournament crowns each. In total, Beilein amassed 754 victories in his college coaching career.
Hamilton was a First Team All-American at the University of Connecticut helping the Huskies to its first National Championship in 1999 and was the 7th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. After being traded to Detroit prior to the 2002-03 season, Hamilton helped the Pistons win the NBA Championship in 2004 and would eventually have his number retired by the franchise.
