New Michigan State Athletic Director Alan Haller has made his first big move since taking the position in East Lansing.
The Spartans have decided to move on from hockey bench boss Danton Cole, who compiled a 58-101-12 record in five seasons that included no NCAA Tournament appearances. Michigan State’s hockey program has not made the NCAA Tournament in the past ten seasons.
The 55-year-old Cole played at Michigan State from 1985-89 serving as an assistant captain during his junior and senior campaigns. Cole totaled 163 points (69 goals and 94 assists) in 180 games played with the Spartans.
