Remember when Ilitch Holdings was interested in creating their own regional sports network to potentially drive the company formerly known as Fox Sports Detroit out of town?
Apparently, that idea has gone away completely as Bally Sports Detroit as signed a multi-year extension with both the Red Wings and Tigers to broadcast the majority of their games for the foreseeable future. In regards to the Pistons, their relationship with BSD appears to still be in good standing.
A formal announcement is expected to come down the wire as soon as today.
The most recent deal between Bally Sports Detroit and the Christopher Ilitch-owned Tigers and Red Wings occurred in 2007.
