Tempers Flare in Tigers’ Home Finale; Tony La Russa Goes On (Another) Rant

The Detroit Tigers played their home regular season finale yesterday afternoon against the hated Chicago White Sox and fell by an 8-7 decision that saw the Tigers roar back from an 8-2 deficit to make it a ballgame late. However, the game wasn’t without some emotions flaring as White Sox slugger Jose Abreu, on an 0-2 count, mind you, as plunked in the elbow with a fastball and decided to take his frustrations out by attempting to take out the Tigers’ Niko Goodrum on a late and aggressive slide into second base during a steal attempt.
