It was another dominate performance on Saturday afternoon for now #19 Michigan as the 3-0 Wolverines thoroughly pounded Northern Illinois by a 63-10 final that, frankly, could have been a whole lot worse. So far, Michigan’s running attack has been the storyline of the 2021 season, and Northern Illinois Head Coach Thomas Hammock took notice of that after Saturday’s game, and he even added a little more spice to a comment he made about Michigan’s rival in the Ohio State Buckeyes:
“I think they built their team to beat Ohio State,” Hammock said. “What I see on tape, they built their team to beat Ohio State. You’re not gonna out-athlete Ohio State, so what they said is we’re gonna get dirty. Credit to them, because they stay committed to that.”
After #Michigan annihilated NIU in all 3 phases of the game, head coach Thomas Hammock credited U-M while noting that he sees a team that’s built to beat Ohio State.
That and why Rocky Lombardi sees big year-over-year improvement in Michigan’s corners. https://t.co/NcJyqt7oqq
