Lions Lose Jeff Okudah For The Season With A Ruptured Achilles

After an injury-plagued rookie season, Jeff Okudah was looking for a fresh start in his second year with the Detroit Lions under a brand new regime. However, his sophomore campaign in Detroit is now over before it really could begin after suffering a ruptured Achilles during yesterday’s season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

As if the day couldn’t have gotten any worse for the former Ohio State Buckeye and #3 overall pick in 2020, he got an earful from Defensive Backs Coach Aubrey Pleasant after getting burned a few times prior to his injury:

Is it time to start putting the “bust” label on Okudah, or is it still too early to tell? Will he ever live up to the draft hype? Should we thank Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn for wasting another high Lions pick on a player that will never pan out?
