MLB Trade Deadline: Tigers Send Daniel Norris To Milwaukee

The Detroit Tigers stayed relatively quiet during this year’s MLB Draft, but the organization did make one move in sending Pitcher Daniel Norris to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for RHP prospect Reese Olson.

Norris, who came in 2015 with Matthew Boyd in the David Price trade with the Blue Jays, had his time with the Tigers interrupted and setback time and again with injuries.  His best stretch was in 2016, when he helped keep the club in the playoff race to the last day, posting a 4-2 record with a 3.38 in 13 starts.

Olson, the soon-to-be 22-year-old, was currently pitching at the High-A level with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and was a 13th-round selection in the 2018 MLB Draft.  In his minor league career, Olson has made 45 appearances (30 starts) going 9-13 record with a 4.55 ERA, 88 earned runs and 169 strikeouts across 174 innings.  Also, could we see him as the newest member of the West Whitecaps?  Signs appear to be pointing in the right direction for that to happen.
