The NFL is kicking off its first-ever expanded 17-game schedule (up from 16) in a couple of months, but that might only be the start.
According to NBC Sports, the league is seriously considering moving to 18-games for the regular season as early as 2025.

Peter King reported, “most observers think 18 games is on the way.”
ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio added, “it’s just a matter of time” until another game is added to the NFL regular-season schedule.
