You know Adrian Peterson was paying attention when 43-year-old Tom Brady lifted another Lombardi trophy.
Just like Brady, the veteran running back says he wants to keep playing into his 40’s.
Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) says he wants to rush for 1,500 yards in his 40s and eclipse Emmitt Smith as football’s all-time leading rusher.
Can he do it? ? https://t.co/7NQucyiGSx

The 36-year-old Peterson told TMZ he wants to “be a 40-year-old back out there rushing for 1,500 yards and amazing people still.” His ultimate goal? To pass Emmitt Smith as the all-time rushing leader.
1,500 yards seems like a tall order for Peterson – he’s averaged just 768 yards per season over the last four years.
He’s currently 5th on the all-time rushing list, 449 yards behind Barry Sanders for 4th place.
How long do you think AP can keep playing? What are the chances he passes Emmitt?
