MLB investigating Justin Turner

Major League Baseball is investigating the actions of Dodgers’ third baseman Justin Turner, after he took the field following his team’s World Series victory Tuesday night.

ESPN reports Turner was inexplicably pulled in the 8th, later it would be learned that he tested positive for COVID-19.

An MLB statement criticized Turner for ‘disregarding the agreed-upon join protocols.’ Commissioner Rob Manfred has called the night “bittersweet,” due to Turner’s actions.

Turner tweeted afterward, “I feel great, no symptoms at all. Just experienced every emotion you can possibly imagine. Can’t believe I couldn’t be out there to celebrate with my guys!”

The Dodgers’ traveling group was tested again after the game. Additional testing is being done on both teams today as everyone waits for clearance to return to their homes.

Why wouldn’t the MLB wait on testing result before allowing anyone to take the field last night? How did Turner test positive with all of the safety protocols?
