Don’t expect to see the Phillie Phanatic, Mr. Met, or any racing sausages during the 2020 baseball season.
One of the protocols in MLB’s 67-page return proposal is a ban on mascots.
It’s a proposal not everyone is happy about. Philly radio personality Angelo Cataldi complained that the Phanatic has “made my kids big sports fans” and is “more responsible for our love of sports” than any athlete.

The Players Union is currently reviewing MLB’s proposal and is expected to respond this week.
