XFL reboot draws 3.3 million viewers for first game

The reboot of the XFL started this past weekend with two games on Saturday and Sunday.

The opening game was between the DC Defenders and the Seattle Dragons. According to a NBC Sports report, that game drew 3.3-million viewers and that the viewership peaked at the end of the broadcast.

That’s better than the 2.9 million viewers that the AAF had tune in for their league premiere last year. As we all know, that league is no longer in existence because of their lack of viewership.

The XFL does have a significant advantage to maintaining their viewership: Network variety. Their games are being carried on ABC, FOX, and ESPN.

Did you get a chance to see any of the games over the weekend? Can the league grow?
