Former Whitecap, Tiger Nick Castellanos signs with Cincinnati Reds

Longtime Detroit Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos has a new home in the National League.

Yesterday he signed a four-year deal with the Cincinnati Reds worth $64 million. The Reds were one of three teams that were very interested in signing Castellanos.

Last season, the slugger posted very good numbers playing with both Detroit and the Chicago Cubs prior to being dealt at the trade deadline.

Casetllanos hit 27 home runs a season and knocked in 73 RBI’s. He also led the league in doubles (58). He joins a Reds team that finished 75-87 a season ago.
